Time to Celebrate Mora’s Mills and Enjoy the 114th Annual Wagon Mound Bean Day!

Labor Day is here and that means this weekend we’ll be celebrating the historic mills of Mora County and enjoying the rodeo and eating the famous barbecue and pinto beans in Wagon Mound.

Visiones Colaborativas-Collaborative Visions will be out again offering up information about the Mora Plaza Nueva Project and offering opportunities for you to give your thoughts about what you think the Plaza should include.

We’ll be at La Cueva Mill on Saturday, August 31 from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm. Take a few minutes during your mills tour to give us your opinion. On Monday, September 2, we’ll have a booth at the 114th annual Wagon Mound Bean Day along with our friends from the 100% Mora Initiative. Come out and enjoy the parade and the barbecue and learn about the great things happening in Mora County!

No time this weekend? Please take a few minutes take our survey The Mora Plaza Nueva Project has the potential to become a true community anchor spot, but that’s only possible if as many Mora community members as possible take the time to tell us what is wanted and needed.

Here are a few responses from our earlier survey –

¡Que Viva Mora!

The Visiones Collaborativas-Collaborative Visions team had a great time meeting folks during Mora Fiestas 2024. Not only did we get to team up with our friends from the 100% Mora Initiative, we got to talk with dozens of Moreños about the Mora Plaza Nueva Project!

One concern we heard was that Mora Plaza Nueva would compete with or duplicate the Mora County Veterans’ Memorial Plaza. Rest assured, the two projects complement each other. We whole-heartedly support the Veterans’ Memorial and are taking great care we do not duplicate the efforts of the County and the Mora Creative Council in style and scope of the Memorial.

If you have done so already, take a few minutes to take the survey linked at the bottom of this post. It only takes about 5 minutes to complete. If you need to know a little more, check out this page https://visionescollaborativas.org/plaza-nueva-project/

More than 65 Mora community members and stakeholders have given Visiones Collaborativas-Collaborative Visions their thoughts about the Mora Plaza Nueva Project. In a perfect world, we’d hear from everybody in the community, so we are going to continue reaching out and asking for your opinions.
